Local browser storage
Favorites, game progress, journal entries, design saves, preferences, and other atlas activity are stored in your browser first. That local activity is not automatically public. Clearing browser/site storage can remove local data and may not be reversible.
Authentication and private account sync
If you choose to sign in, Firebase Authentication processes the account information needed for the selected sign-in method. TayTV may also sync your private atlas state to Cloud Firestore under a user-specific path. Firestore security rules restrict that private atlas document to the signed-in account that owns it.
The live Community is different
The Community page is a deliberately public user-generated-content surface. If you are signed in and choose to create a Community profile, the nickname you choose, favorite era, and recreational Atlas activity score are written to a public Firestore collection and can be read by other visitors. If you publish a Community post, the post text, nickname, favorite-era label, score at posting time, and publication time can be displayed publicly.
Your account email address is not rendered on the public Community interface. Firebase user identifiers are used internally to enforce ownership and deletion rules. Do not put private contact details, addresses, passwords, or sensitive personal information in a public nickname or post.
Reports and moderation
Signed-in readers can report a Community post. Report records include the post reference and the reporting account identifier and are stored in a collection that normal web clients cannot read. Reports are intended for moderation review and may be retained as necessary to investigate abuse.
Advertising and measurement
Selected reading pages load Google's AdSense verification script with ad requests paused. This contacts Google and can expose ordinary request information such as your IP address and browser details. Google's documentation says paused requests set no new advertising cookies, although existing Google cookies may be read; associated data is not used for ad serving or measurement while paused.
If you allow optional advertising cookies, TayTV enables non-personalized ad requests. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or identifiers for frequency limits, aggregated reporting, and fraud prevention. Non-personalized does not mean cookie-free. Rejecting optional cookies keeps ad requests paused. Withdrawing permission through Cookie settings reloads the page to remove existing ads; it does not delete cookies already stored by third parties. You can remove those through your browser settings.
The ad script is excluded from games, private writing, the live Community, accounts, legal pages, and other pages marked as ad-free. TayTV's preference banner is not a Google-certified consent management platform. Google's regional consent requirements still apply; personalized advertising is disabled by this site.
See how Google uses information from partner sites, Google's Privacy Policy, and Google Ads Settings to learn more and manage Google's advertising choices. Other participating companies' choices may be available through YourAdChoices.
YouTube and external services
The screening room can request preview images from YouTube before playback. The YouTube player loads when you choose to play a video. These requests and external source links can share ordinary request information with the destination service under its privacy terms. TayTV does not control third-party services.
Hosting logs
The hosting provider may process ordinary web request information such as IP address, timestamp, user agent, and requested path for security, reliability, and operation.
